Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH (JOE) ETHIER November 6, 1921 - December 2, 2006 Peacefully with family at his side, Joseph passed away at Taché Centre in Winnipeg, on December 2, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Joe was predeceased by Betty, his loving wife of 57 years, his parents Augustin and Anna Ethier and his brother Gerry. Joe was born in St. Boniface on November 6, 1921. Joe was an extraordinary chef and a proud Veteran of the Second World War. Joe spent many happy summers at the family cottage in Albert Beach where he would paint, garden, bike ride and go for walks with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe enjoyed telling stories to his family and always had a memory to share. You rarely ever saw him without a smile on his face. He especially enjoyed fishing, whether he was in a boat, on the rocks at Pine Falls or on the pier at Victoria Beach. Joe will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Anna (Frank), Bernadette (Bob), Cecile (Bob), Danielle (Sue), Eveline (Victor); grandchildren, Jimmy (Eva), Connie (Julian), Lisa, April (Myles), Kevin, Jason, Erick, and Evan, and by great-grandchildren, Kathryne, Kerra, Jimmy Jr., and Myles Jr. Joe's family was his virtue and he had more than enough love for all of us. Joe was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Joe's family would like to express sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at Taché Centre for the compassionate care they provided. We would also like to extend our thanks to Germaine who was with us on Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Taché Centre, 185 Despins Street, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2B3. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at the St. Boniface Cemetery.
