Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAUREEN CONSTANCE LILLIAN BENNICI (CAINE) December 26, 1962 to December 1, 2006 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, auntie and friend. Maureen passed away peacefully after a brief, but brave, fight with cancer. Maureen passed away at far too young an age, leaving to mourn her beloved husband Vince; cherished children, Kristina and Matthew; devoted sisters (and brothers-in-law), Eileen-Marie, Patty (Chris) and Kathleen (Brant); adored nieces and nephews, Robert, Patrick, Kiah, Kasey, Ethan, Emma-Marie, Seth, Christian and Aidan, and loyal dog Kiari. Maureen was predeceased by her parents Bob and Marie and her brother Robert Caine. Like her treasured mother, Maureen had the ability to love unconditionally and always found a reason to smile despite life's many challenges. Maureen was born and raised in Winnipeg and graduated from Grant Park High School. After raising her children, she returned to work in the child welfare system. She was working towards obtaining a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Maureen loved to visit Pine Ridge Hollow Tea Room near her home in Oakbank, Manitoba. It is on a wall there that Maureen's three favourite words are inscribed - Live, Love, Laugh. These words represent how she lived each and every day of her life. We will miss Maureen beyond words. To honour her children - her whole world, whole life - we will strive each day to appreciate life the way she did. The family would like to thank the team of professionals who helped Maureen - in particular the nurses (Christa - you were a ray of sunshine for Maureen!) and staff at Women's Hospital. With their support Maureen was able to fight her battle with dignity and peace. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Chapter of the Winners Walk of Hope in Support of the National Ovarian Cancer Association. (www.winnerswalkofhope.ca) There will be a Service of Remembrance in honour of Maureen on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. with a reception to follow in the St. Aidan's Anglican Church, 274 Campbell St. with Reverend Ken Turnbull officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Rock Fontaine Funeral Director of Winnipeg in care of arrangements (204)223-2576 or toll free (866)499-2601.
