NORMA VICTORIA FOX On Saturday, December 2, 2006 Norma Victoria Fox (nee Douglas), aged 94 years young. Predeceased by Leslie John in 1972 and survived by their children, Douglas (Margery), Michael (Carmen) and Shirley (George) and grandchildren, Joanne, Grant, Andrew, Kathryn, Barbara and Brian. A lifelong resident of Winnipeg and member of the United Church of Canada, Norma served the Church in many ways and was Chairman of Board of Deer Lodge United Church and Chairman of the Board of the Winnipeg Presbytery for several years. A notable local lyricist in her early years, Norma also anchored many a church choir until her voice went on permanent leave in her later years. Together with husband Les, and for years after his death, Norma delivered thousands of Meals on Wheels to needy Winnipegers and as one of the Church's nursing home visitors in her 60s and 70s she brightened many a resident's day. And so it ends, a long life well lived. Bye Mom, we'll miss you. A service in Norma's memory is planned for Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Winnipeg in memory of her sister, Shirley Trudeau.
