CAPTAIN W. T. (BILL) C. D. VANT On Saturday December 2, 2006 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa, Ontario in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Patricia. Loving father of Wendy Verhagen (Edmonton), Kristy Vant (New York City) and Barbara-Lynn Vant (Trenton). Dear grandfather of Natasha-Lee Verhagen, Erin and Courtney Morris and Kirt Winter and of the late Robert Winter. Loved great-grandfather of Destany Winter. Predeceased by his sister Elsie Rutherford and brother Roy Vant. Fondly remembered by his first wife and good friend, Mimi. Also survived by his good friends, Carol and Charlton Fairbairn. A Memorial Service will be held in Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) Nepean on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the Britannia Apartments, 415 Greenview, (Pinecrest Road at Carling Avenue), Ottawa. If desired, donations may be made to a remembrance fund which is to create a memorial park bench. The bench will be placed at the Britannia Garden Park which he helped clean and maintain for many years. Donations to this project should be made to the Estate of William T.
