Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUSSELL LLOYD ROTHWELL Russell Lloyd (Doc) Rothwell was born in Windsor, Ontario in 1915 and ended his incredible journey on December 1, 2006 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Russ spent most of his young life growing up and working in Saskatchewan. 1n 1940 he enlisted and went overseas with the South Saskatchewan Regiment. He was wounded at Dieppe and as a result, sent home where he served as a prison guard. In 1943 he married Isabelle Green. After his discharge in 1945, he went to work for Regina Cartage, eventually owning and operating his own truck. In 1980, after 35 years with the cartage, he retired. Russ took great pride in having served his country during the Second World War and attended the South Saskatchewan Regiment's reunions as faithfully as he could. He is survived by his son Sam (Peggy); his daughter Barbara (Henry); grandchildren, Lisa and Kevin (Christina); great-grandson Matthew; brothers, Charlie, Harold, Calvin; sisters, Gwen and Vivian; niece Tracie; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and many close friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Isabelle; brothers, Warren, Stanley, Allan and Reg; and sister Mary. Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to many friends who watched over Dad in his later life. He always enjoyed talking and having a cup of tea with them. In respect to Dad's wishes cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Regina Memorial Gardens, Highway #1 East with a reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 2nd Avenue, Regina, S4R 1A6 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina, S4R 2P6.
