EDWARD PAYMENT Peacefully on the morning of December 4, 2006 our loving father and grandfather, Edward Payment, unselfishly left us to join his lifelong soulmate, Bernice, to be together for eternity. He was predeceased by his wife Bernice of 48 years; also by his parents, Romeo and Alice. He is survived by his daughter Marlo Wiebe (George); sons, Curtis and Darren (Heather); grandchildren, Jesse, Dayna, Tyler, Meghan and Jack; as well as sister May and brother Robert; brother-in-law Ernest Single; many nieces, nephews and friends are also left to cherish his memory. Ed had his schooling at St. Boniface College and joined the CN Rail as an operator, retiring as a dispatcher in 1988, after 38 years. Dad spent years curling at the Heather and Ft. Garry Curling Clubs with the Big Six . One of his proudest moments was when they accomplished an 8 ender . He also loved to golf at tournaments and at Windsor Golf Course. Ed and Bernice loved to travel, especially to Mesa, Arizona, with Marg and Ernest Single (sister-in-law and brother-in-law). He also loved camping at Falcon Lake (early years) and Lilac Resort for the last 16 years, and also his favourite hideaway in Niddrie, ON, where he spent the last 50 years at their fishing camp. Our hearts are broken at his passing, but after a long and courageous battle, we are comforted that he is now at peace. The family wishes to express their thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Riverview Health Centre, 3E, for their loving care in Dad's toughest times, and also, for supporting our family. Prayers will take place Thursday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1. E. and Navin Road. Cremation to follow. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsyth Rd. (St. Vital). Rev. Fr. Phil Daley celebrant. A private family interment at Green Acres Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. We all love and appreciate your loving care and support throughout our lives, thanks Dad. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
