Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN SHEWCHUK (nee CHABOT) It is with great sadness we announce that on November 30, 2006, our beloved mother passed away peacefully with the love of her family surrounding her at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Her memory will be cherished forever by her daughter Gloria, and her son Reg. She is also survived by her many treasured nieces, nephews and special friends. Mom has now been reunited with her beloved husband John, who passed away July 6, 2003. She was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Mary Chabot; her brothers, John, Bill and George; her sisters, Doris, Rose, Pauline, Lucy and Anna. Mom was born October 6, 1922 in Insinger, SK and moved at a young age with her family to Fort William, ON. In 1941, she met John, the love of her life, at a church event. They were married in 1942 and shared 61 years together. Jean was an active member and a president of the St. Anne's Society of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League at the Church of Transfiguration in Fort William, ON. She was a strong supporter of John's involvement in the church and his Knights of Columbus activities. In 1960 the family moved to Winnipeg. Jean continued her involvement in church activities and in the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League, serving on numerous committees. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church for over 46 years. Mom was a devoted wife and mother, her family meant the world to her and she shared a special closeness with her brothers and sisters. Mom was always there with love and kindness for us all. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mark Kristjanson for his dedicated and compassionate care for Mom and his support to our family; to the nurses and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with Rev. Fr. Raymond Lukie, CSsR officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's memory may be sent to a charity of one's choice or to St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Building and Capital Maintenance Fund. Think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched...For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so very much. Vichnaya Pam'yat CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
