RUSSELL E. YEO On Tuesday, December 5, 2006, Russell E. Yeo passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Ellen; brother-in-law Earl; and his sister-in-law Dorothy and her family. Russell was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Ida Yeo; and his brother Reg. Russell was born and raised in the Swan Lake area. He joined the Army in Winnipeg and served as a tank driver in the Second World War with the South Alberta Regiment until the end of the war. Russell returned to Winnipeg and began his career as a painter, later joining the Provincial Government Public Works Department. He retired in May of 1985 as a painter foreman. Russell was a member of the St. James Legion and the Winnipeg Elks of Canada. Remembrances in Russell's memory may be made to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund For Children, in care of S. Ellen, Bindu and I were sorry to hear about Russell. Our memories of Russell are so fresh and so wonderful even though they were so many years ago and for so few days. We are so enriched by the short time we spent with him. It takes a very special person to do that. Our thoughts will be with you over the next couple of days. Ellen Thank-you for the call. That couldn't have been easy. He was a great man and our family will miss him a lot. We are all the better for having been in his presence.
