TENA GRETCHEN 1915 - 2006 Suddenly, after a long and healthy life, on December 6, 2006, Antonina (Tena) Gretchen, aged 91 years, having resided in Meleb, Gimli, and more recently Edmonton, passed away peacefully at the Edmonton Royal Alexandra Hospital. Tena was born on June 12, 1915 at Meleb, MB. Tena is loved and remembered by her two daughters, Rose (Mitchell) Tkach, Edmonton, AB, Marjorie Hykawy, Winnipeg, MB; and son Ron (Ange) Gretchen, Saskatoon, SK; her grandchildren, Trevor (Paula) Tkach, Kennedy; Todd (Laura) Tkach, Daniel and Jacob; Braden (Sharon) Tkach, and Kirby Tkach, all of Edmonton; Tanis (Ken) Ryback, Shantel and Jaclyn; Karen (Rick) Ewchuk; Christina and Jared, Maxine Hykawy; Brett, all of Winnipeg; Joe Gretchen of Saskatoon and Jody (Brent) Buchan; Remy and Kobe, Calgary, AB. Tena was predeceased by her husband Michael Gretchen; by brother Frank (Stella) Dwornick; brother Martin (Mary) Dwornick; sister Paulina (Nick) Keryluk; sister Mary (Richard) Park and stepsister (Katie Marchuk); son-in-law Mike Hykawy; and great-granddaughter Ava Tkach. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gimli with Father Harry Chuckry officiating.
