LILLIAN IRENE BENNINK (nee GIRLING) Peacefully at the age of 75 on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the Riverview Health Centre with her family by her side, Lillian Irene Bennink passed away. She was predeceased by her parents Leslie and Margaret Girling and her daughter Shelly Cross. Left to mourn and cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years John, daughters, Barbara and Roberta, her three grandchildren, Kandyce (Fred), Randall, and Ryan (Michelle), along with her great-granchildren, Ava and Tayden, her sister Ellen and her children, along with their spouses and children. Lillian was born and raised in Souris, MB where she was actively involved in sports. She later moved into Winnipeg with her sister where she went to work at Eaton's upon which she met and married her husband, the love of her life. She was active in many service clubs throughout the years, but her biggest passion was her garden which when in bloom, was a peaceful sanctuary. Lillian's family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Palliative Care ward of 3 East at Riverview Health Centre for their kindness, compassion and care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME, 220 Hespeler Ave. Interment will follow at a later date.
