IRENE LILLIAN DAVIDSON R.N. With sadness and sorrow, the family announces the passing of Irene Lillian Davidson on December 4, 2006. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Kjartan Isfeld (Kenny) in 1996 and by her son Kenneth Roy in 1971. Irene was born March 30, 1916 in Little Britain, MB, the eldest daughter of Arthur and Christina Cox. She persevered through difficult times and attained her Registered Nursing Certificate. Irene and Ken were married November 9, 1940. She travelled and lived with her young son to be closer to her husband stationed in Halifax during the war. Upon returning to Selkirk, Irene made a home for their expanding family. She continued nursing privately. Irene's gentle nature and quiet manner were often sought by families in need of specialized care. Irene's family was her priority in life. Most important to her was the comfort of her husband and children. Irene kept her home warm with love. She loved to bake and master her husband's love of Icelandic food. She took great pride in her children's and grandchildren's accomplishments. Irene will be lovingly and sadly missed by her son Warren (Karen) of Moncton, NB; daughter Lillian (Ken Allan); son Keith (Linda) of Winnipeg. Along with her children, Irene leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Kurt, Kelly, Renee (Mark), Ainsley (Shawn), Stefan, Drew, Meghan, Patrick and Matthew; and great-grandchildren, Kevin, Broden, Ryan and Ellery; and sisters, Gwen and Lenore, and many nieces and nephews. Honouring Irene's wishes, a private family service and interment will be held at a later date. The family sincerely thanks the 4th floor staff of the Concordia Personal Care Home for their comfort and compassion shown towards our Mom. Good Night Nanna and God Bless. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.d
