Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNOBUE HASHIMOTO March 31, 1916 - 2006 Peacefully, on Sunday, December 3, 2006, with family members by her side, Nobue Hashimoto, in her 90th year, passed away at Lions Manor. Nobue was born and raised in British Columbia, and since 1942, lived in Manitoba, first in Arnaud and then Winnipeg, working at Sterling Cloaks until retirement. Predeceased by father Ruiichi; mother Sato; sisters, Emiko (Okimura), Toshie (Takahashi); brothers, Hiro, Ted, Bruce and Ben; brother-in-law Jack Okimura; nephew Richard Okimura. Survived by brother-in-law Saburo Takahashi and daughter Joy of Toronto; sisters-in-law, Tosh (Hiro), Faye (Bruce) and Chris (Ben); nieces, Nancy (Ken), Gaia, Pamela and Jennifer; nephew Terry (Rena) and son Benjamin; great-niece Tannis (Ron) and sons, Cameron, Caidan and Curran. Nobue enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and the activities and companionship of Hoyukai members at church. Her creativity was expressed through knitting, crocheting, sewing, crafts and gardening. Her independent spirit and sense of adventure led to travels throughout Canada and the U.S., the British Isles, northern and southern Europe, Asia, South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand and South America. Being in Rio de Janeiro for Mardi Gras was like a dream come true! She entertained us at movie nights with colourful slides and home movies of these trips. For the past three years, Nobue resided in comfort at Lions Manor, enjoying companionship and recreation there. Our heartfelt thanks to all the 3rd floor staff for the wonderful, compassionate care of Nobue. Special thanks to Brenda and Nila who provided such loving care and support at the time of her passing. At Nobue's request, cremation has taken place. Private family prayers and interment will take place at a later date.
