JENNIE ROSE STARODUB (nee NESKAR) Peacefully, on Thursday, December 7, 2006, after a courageous battle, Jennie Starodub passed away at the Selkirk and District General Hospital at the age of 70. Jennie will be lovingly remembered by her husband Frank and sons, Jeff, Chris and Glen. She is survived by sisters, Mary (Les) Nicholson, Louise (Adrian) Verheul, Carol Trippier and brothers, Ted (Olga) and Frank (Pat) Neskar, as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Jennie is predeceased by her parents, Stan and Louise Neskar; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Helen Neskar; sister Elizabeth Neskar and brother-in-law Stan Trippier. Jennie was a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, neighbour and friend. She grew up in Selkirk and travelled the world in her younger years as an employee of Air Canada. Eventually settling back in Selkirk, she devoted herself to her husband and boys. Jennie enjoyed spending time with friends and family, she loved gardening, cooking, baking, bowling and of course Bingo! Thank you to family and friends who sent well wishes, prayers and who spent time with her during her illness. Your love and support and her faith brought her much comfort. A sincere thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Selkirk General Hospital and CancerCare in Winnipeg, especially Dr. H. Demsas and Jennie's special angels, Debbie and Melanie. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11 at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk and a funeral mass will be held Tuesday, December 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 269 Jemima St., Selkirk with Fr. Dado Parrenas officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Jennie's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
