VERNA MARGARET MCKEAG On Saturday, December 9, 2006 at her residence, Mrs. Verna McKeag (nee Anderson) aged 92 years, died peacefully with her dear niece Diann at her bedside. Verna enjoyed the many years of service with United Grain Growers and lifelong associations she made there. Verna was born in Winnipeg and was predeceased by her sister Ruth Alcott, brother Fredrik Anderson, son Richard McKeag, daughter Joan Barker and son-in-law Ronald Barker. She leaves to mourn her passing, her niece Diann Anderson (Winnipeg); daughter-in-law Joyce McKeag (Toronto); grandchildren, Geoffrey Barker (Winnipeg), Grant Barker (Isabel) (Winnipeg), Graeme Barker (Winnipeg), Suzanne and Gordon McKeag (Toronto); her nieces, Brenda Freedman (Alan) (Winnipeg) and Valerie Roos-Linse (Ottawa) and her nephew Danny Anderson (Winnipeg); her seven great-grandchildren, Elin, Sylvia, Olivea, Holden, Evan, Madison and Jordan and numerous grandnieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff and resources of Homecare who made her nine year stay at home possible. In particular, the administration staff, Corrine, Darcia, Shirley and Kathy, special nurses Joan, Isabel, Candace, Marietta, Carol, Jennifer and Debbie. A very special thanks to HCA's Myrna, Lilly, Louise, Lorna and Anita. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 14 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance.
