She was predeceased by her parents Edith and Frank Kendall and is survived by her sister and husband, Norma and Reesor Bingeman and by her nieces and nephews, Blair and Val Bingeman, and their children, Kristin and Cullen; Judith and Terry Iversen of Champaign, Illinois, and their children, Jennifer and Derek; Craig and Lorraine Bingeman; Kendall and Deborah Bingeman; Patricia and Ken Buchanan, and cousin Valerie Carter of Toronto. Lois was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, moved to Truax, Saskatchewan in 1918, and in 1926, her family moved to Winnipeg. She graduated from Kelvin High School, and after two years at University, decided to enter the business world. She was employed by The Empire Life Insurance Company until 1944 when she departed for New Jersey, where she lived with family friends and worked as a secretary for the Bendix Aviation Corporation in New Jersey and Bendix International in New York City. Lois returned to Winnipeg in 1950 and worked for her brother-in-law at Bingeman Insurance Agencies and then for Armstrong Taylor Limited and finished up her working years with Reed Stenhouse Limited, from where she retired in 1977. Lois was a long-time member of Broadway First Baptist Church, and in her retirement, a member of St Andrews River Heights United Church. Until her health failed, she was an active member of the Womens' Committee of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. She loved her family and was never happier than when she was with them on family occasions. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the provincial homecare staff whose care enabled Lois to remain home as long as possible and to the special care provided by the dedicated third floor staff at Poseidon Care Centre over the last several years, especially Joan, Sarah, Gertie and Kerron. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal Inc. Funeral Home, 984 Portage Avenue, entrance off Aubrey Street, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2006. A private family interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. neil bardal inc. 949-2200 n.bardal.mb.ca
