LEA (DOLLY) MCMULLEN-ROY (nee BATALLER) Surrounded by her loving family, Dolly peacefully passed away on December 12, 2006 at the age of 77 years. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward McMullen (1975) and her mother, Leone Armandine Schlesser (1985) and father Juan Baptista Bataller (1993). Dolly leaves to mourn her beloved husband of 25 years, Leonard Roy; her five sons, Ed (Peggy), Jamie (Ginette), Roy (Jody), Robert (Trisha) and Peter (Veronica). Also Leonard's children, Edmond, Dewey (Toni), Nadine (Lauren), Colin (Jill), Angela (Danny) and Jason. And 16 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her sisters, Rosita, Theresa and Leona; her brother John; as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dolly was born on June 21, 1929 in New Waterford, NS. She married Edward McMullen in 1950, and three years later the young family established themselves in Pine Falls, MB. In 1975, after the death of her husband, Dolly surmounted many obstacles in order to provide for her family. On June 21, 1981 she married Leonard Roy, of Pine Falls, where they raised the combined family and spent many wonderful years together. Dolly enjoyed gardening, knitting, playing cards, watching sports on T.V. and spending time with family and friends. She was known for her sense of humour, wit and style. Dolly was a loving wife and mother and a kind and generous grandmother. She will be greatly missed, always cherished and forever remembered in our hearts. In December of 1999, Dolly suffered a stroke and moved to the Sunnywood Manor Personal Care Home where she received excellent care. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Sunnywood Manor and the Pine Falls Hospital for their kind and loving care. A private family service will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sunnywood Personal Care Home or the Pine Falls Health Auxiliary. Arrangements are entrusted to Russell's of Beausejour, Manitoba Ph. 268-2263 or toll free at 1-866-424-6271

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • On behalf of my wife (Linda) and our children (Dylan, Brett and Niki), we send our condolences to Uncle Leonard and our cousins on your loss. Although I did not have the pleasure to spend a lot of time with Aunt Dolly due to distance, I do remember the times we did have together in the old homestead in Dominion. She truly was a caring, fun person. Take care. Love Derek and family. - Posted by: Derek MacEwen (Family) on: Dec 15, 2006
