Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ELLEN LIVINGSTON (nee LARSON) Ellen passed away peacefully Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Lions Manor with family present, just two weeks after her 100th birthday, which was celebrated on her birthday with about 60 members of her family present. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1969; her son Bill just one year ago; grandson Kim in 1975; great-great-grandson Jesse in 2006; babies, Lorraine Elaine and Tianna; also by sisters, Sandra Aitken (Frank) and Beatrice Larson; brother Norman during the Second World War. Ellen was born November 25, 1906 in Winnipeg to parents Alma and Nels Larson. The Larson family moved to Starbuck when Ellen was a young age. She attended school in Starbuck and later Teacher's College (Normal School) in Winnipeg. After teaching at Uplands school, she met and married Robert Leslie Livingston in January 1928. Bob and Ellen farmed in the Starbuck area and raised three children, Jean (Obert) Johnson, Bill (Helen) Livingston and Roy (Inga) Livingston. Ellen spent many happy years as a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed cooking, especially for family. She was very fond of various crafts; crocheting, knitting, beadwork, etc. She sewed many of her own clothes with meticulous attention to detail. After her children were grown, she returned to teaching, at several of the Hutterite colonies for a number of years, continuing to live on the family farm in her own little bungalow. In later years, she moved to the Riverdale apartments where she continued to enjoy her crafts and made many new friends. When her health began to deteriorate, she was moved to Lions Manor on Sherbrook Street. The family wishes to thank the administration and staff of the third floor P.C.H. of Lions Manor for their exceptional care and compassion during her stay there. The service for Ellen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16 at Starbuck United Church with Rev. Cathie Maxwell officiating. Family interment to follow. Lunch will be served at the church. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Pat Johnson, Leland Johnson, Andy Livingston, Dan Livingston, Scott Livingston and Shawn Livingston. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Starbuck United Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 261, Starbuck, MB ROG 2P0 or to Lions Manor Personal Care Home, 320 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2W6. We will miss you, Mom. Rest in peace. neil bardal inc. 949-2200 nbaral.mb.ca
