Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE PELTIER (nee SMITH) July 17, 1929 - December 16, 2006 Elsie passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by her husband John; her son Gary Peltier and wife Sylvia; her grandchildren, Dustin, Melissa (Erik) and Brianna; her daughter Benita Stafford-Smith and grandson Joey; her daughter Wendy Jackson and husband Larry; her granddaughter Bonita and great-granddaughter Morgan; her granddaughter Robin and great-granddaughter Kya; stepgrandchildren, Toby and Sherri; and niece Patricia Letendre (Peter). Elsie is predeceased by her sister Kay Smith (Hilliard); brothers, Reg Smith (Mickey) and Allan Smith (Greita); her daughter Mary Lou McGee; and her first husband Gordon Smith. Surviving Elsie are her sisters, Jean Renauld (George), Nancy Furey (Jim); and brother Harry Smith (Alice). Elsie was born and raised in Fisher Branch, MB. She beautified the world through her love of gardening, creating numerous vegetable and flower gardens on their property. She shared this passion with her husband John through their long time membership and service to the South Interlake Garden Club. John and Elsie won numerous awards for their flowers, vegetables, and beautiful yard. Elsie's crafts, baking and home decorating were famous and enjoyed immensely by family and friends. Creativity, love and beauty have been Elsie's gift to this world along with an amazing love for her family. Memorial service will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, MB on Tuesday, December 19, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Southwest District Palliative Care, Box 1282, 321 Main St., Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0.
