Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEARL VERNON MOLLARD Earl Vernon Mollard suddenly passed away Friday, December 15, 2006 at the age of 82. To mourn his passing are his sisters, Eleanor Howard, Doreen Miller (Len), Elaine Goudie (Norm) and Betty Strowe (Clarey) and numerous nephews and niece and grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Albert Joshia and mother Marion; brothers William and Ronald Albert (Tex) and sister-in-law Katherine; sister Bernice and her husband Joel Hudson (Bogie) and brother-in-law Reg Howard; and nephew Ronald William Mollard. Born in Stonewall on February 11, 1924, Earl was an avid sports participant in hockey and baseball until the Second World War broke out and he enlisted in the Navy. He then spent the war escorting convoys back and forth between Canada, England and Russia. Upon returning home he eventually found his calling as a prison guard for 32 years at Stony Mountain Federal Penitentiary. He retired to a life of golf and spending time with family at the barn and friends at the Rock'. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, to be followed by a luncheon at the Stonewall Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall in care of arrangements.
