Gerry was predeceased in 1982 by her loving husband of 42 years, Charles Kenneth, and by her dear brother Leslie. She later met and had 10 happy years with her partner, Bob Broadfoot, who died in 1994. Left to cherish her memory are her son John (and wife Ella) and daughters Carol and Valerie (and husband Eric Williamson), as well as six wonderful grandchildren, Missy, Wendy, Christopher, Jennifer, Scott and Sean, and three adored great-grandchildren, Amanda, Mathew and Ryan. Gerry was born, married and lived her whole life in Winnipeg. She and her husband Charlie were charter members of Westworth United Church where she was a lifetime member of the UCW, and active in youth group leadership. She enjoyed golf and curling and, earlier in her life, belonged to the Winnipeg Winter Club and Niakwa Golf Club. Gerry and Charlie spent many happy summers with family and friends at their cottage in Husavik, on Lake Winnipeg. It was there she met, and forged a lifetime friendship with Glad Gunn. Her family and many friends will fondly remember a lovely vibrant woman who was, to the end, caring, supportive, spirited, and full of fun. The family would like to thank Dr. Nene Rush and the staff at the St. Boniface hospital, and the wonderful staff of Lions Place. A service to celebrate Geraldine's life will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing can make a donation in memory of Gerry to the charity of their choice.
