AMBER-LEE ALEXANDRIA VIRKUS April 6, 1973 - December 16, 2006 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Amber after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother Janice, brother Jason (Samantha), sister Alysa (Colin), niece and nephews Tyler, Sydney and Easton, son Nedward, and grandmother Josephine Glugosh. Amber was predeceased by her father Alvar, grandparents Joseph Glugosh, Arvid and Elise Virkus. Amber, a girl who was never at a loss for words, thoughts or opinions, and with a great love of life, family, friends, and especially practical jokes, a great competitiveness for board games and cards, loved to travel, hike and camp. She was a strong sports-oriented person who gave it her all, no matter what task or challenge she was taking on. This past year has been a true testament to her inner strength and courage. Thank you to all of the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, and The Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street with reception to follow.
