SYLVIA GREEN 1923 - 2006 Sylvia Green, beloved wife of the late Monte Green, mother of Larry (Alayna). Shawn (Ian), Gary (Joyce), Marcie (Laurent), Rick (Kathy) and Niki (Yale), passed away December 8, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Liza Sugarman, her sister Frances Marks and husbands, David Saifer and Monte Green. Sylvia was born and raised in Saskatoon. She moved to Winnipeg in her late teens where she married the first love of her life, Davey. Together they had four children, Larry, Shawn, Gary and Marcie. After Davey passed away, Sylvia married the second love of her life - Monte, who brought Rick and Niki into the family. Together they shared 36 years of love and laughter. Sylvia had an incredible zest for life which she instilled in her children. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family, golf, tennis and travel. She was an optimist, always looking at the bright side of life. Among her most enjoyable moments were the times she spent with her grandchildren, David, Jill, Sam, Ben, Adam, Daniel, Ali and Dani. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 10 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, with interment in Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Saifer, Jill Saifer, Sam Koulack, Adam Saifer, Ian Staniloff and Laurent Soret. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
