Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHEODORE STANLEY JURKOWSKI May 15, 1922 - December 14, 2006 Peacefully on December 14, 2006 at the River East Nursing Home, with his loving family at his side, Dad entered into his eternal rest at the age of 84. Remaining to cherish his memory is his loving wife Jeannette of 50 years; son Derek (Cathy), their children, Ryan, Paul and Lynnea; daughters, Jeanine (Greg), their children Kristen, Melanie and Kaitlyn; Nicole (Guy), their children Madison and Ava; and daughter Cindy. Ted was predeceased by his parents John and Mary; brother Ed; sister Michaelene and infant sibling Walter. Surviving siblings are Henry (Rose), Joe (Ruby), Karl (Wendy) and Pat (Jim). Dad was a gentle and loving husband, father and grandfather. We thank God for having him in our lives. Dad lived his Catholic faith all his life, he was also a Eucharistic minister at Holy Redeemer Parish. Dad served in the army during the Second World War as a cook. He was also an active member at St. Johns Cantius society. Dad worked at CN as a carman for 38 years. Dad enjoyed gardening, bird watching, walking his dog, blueberry picking, country music, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. In retirement (1984) Dad and Mom enjoyed their travelling time together. Prayers for the repose of his soul will be held on Sunday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m. with (his nephew) Fr. Darren Gurr officiating at Knysh Funeral Chapel at 1020 Main St. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 264 Donwood Dr., with Fr. Darren Gurr and Fr. Wenceslao Rebillaco officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Ryan and Paul, nephews John Riva, John Wasney, Brian Gurr and Steven Jurkowski. Private family interment will take place at a later date. We thank all the good caring people from River East Nursing Home for taking good care of Dad in his last years. We love you Dad and we will miss you. We will always keep you close in our hearts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
