Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJESSIE MARIA STEEVES (nee ROBERTSON) Surrounded by her family, Jessie died very peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2006 at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 89. Jessie was born on October 6, 1917 in Winnipeg, the only child of Mary and John Robertson. She was predeceased by Wilf, her beloved husband of 55 years, on December 12, 1996. Mum will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Wilf Steeves (Diane), Jan Mason Steeves, Bob Steeves (Candy) and Chuck Steeves (Debbie); her six grandchildren, Trevor Steeves (Vanessa), Brian Steeves (Joanne), Jennifer Mason Wetherill (Doug Wetherill), Andrew Mason, Janice Warkentin (Dan), Cathy Steeves, and nine great-grandchildren, Eric, Morgan, Kyle, Cody, Bradley, Kayla, Ben, Mitchell and Kya. She will also be remembered by her dear cousins in Scotland, Ian and Elsie Thomson, Graeme and Carol Thomson, Sheila and Jim Buchan, John Dunbar and Willie Murdoch. Mom dedicated her life to family and friends. She was a talented seamstress creating everything from clothing for her grandchildren to family heirloom quilts. Her social life was full and she was blessed with many dear friends. For many years Mum was an active member of Southwood Golf Club, Windsor Golf Club, the Pembina Bowling League, and she was a longtime member of the Daughters of the Nile Choir. Mum was a 27 year volunteer for the Nearly New Shop, run by the Children's Hospital Foundation. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Rd., with Rev. Dr. Gordon Taylor. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Mum's favourite charity, The Nearly New Shop at 961 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0P9 would be greatly appreciated.
