NORMAN WILFRED COOK July 22, 1936 - December 15, 2006 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Wilfred Cook after a long heroic battle with cancer. Norman leaves to mourn his son Cameron (Laverna), grandchildren, Kecia, Payton, Kathleen and Kathryn, Cameron's mother Christine; son Kenneth and his mother Olive; sisters, Marie Olson (Oscar), Yvonne Cook (Franklin), Virginia Arthurson (Ralph), Dorothy Hutchinson (Dick), Marlyn Cook and Helen Armstrong (Garth); brothers, John Cook and Sol Cook; many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends too numerous to mention. Norman is predeceased by his sons, Dennis and Bernard; parents, Dan and Angelique Cook; sisters, Audrey Sinclair and Grace McLeod; brothers, Walter Cook, Russell Cook and Daniel Cook; and brother-in-law Hubert Sinclair. Norman was born in Grand Rapids, MB, and lived there most of his life. As a child, he spent his time with his father and brothers learning how to survive off the land by hunting, trapping and fishing. When he was a young man, he had the role of the hunter for the family and, for a period of time, he hunted on horseback. Norman was a hardworking man and spent most of his adult life fishing on Lake Winnipeg, often coming in with the biggest yield for the season. He enjoyed life as a fisherman. Norman's illness forced him to relocate in Winnipeg for the last few years where he enjoyed spending time at the casino, always dreaming of the big win . Wake services will be held at St. Alexander Catholic Hall in Grand Rapids, MB each evening on Sunday, December 17 and Monday, December 18. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, at the St. Alexander Catholic Hall in Grand Rapids, with viewing to be begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Grand Rapids Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eugene Sinclair, Mark McLeod, Terry Cook, Michael Hutchinson, Sean Arthurson, Dwayne Cook, John Armstrong and Jamie Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be his sons, Cameron and Kenneth, brothers, Solomon Cook and John Cook, all his nephews and fishermen friends. Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospice for their warm support and care that they showed Norman and our family. We appreciate all that you did to ease his difficult journey. Until we meet again Stands Alone Buffalo man' We Love You. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME LTD Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072
