Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADRIENNE JEANNE D'ARC PAYETTE With great sorrow, yet relief, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Adrienne, on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg Manitoba, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Adrienne was born February 3, 1922 in St. Lupicin, Manitoba, to Ferdinand and Bernadette Bahuaud. She married Antoine (Tony) Payette on October 11th, 1939. She and Tony farmed in St. Lupicin and later moved to Swan Lake. Adrienne also worked as a Nurses Aide at Swan Lake Hospital, retiring in 1985, but she continued to be a volunteer with the Palliative Care program. In 1984, Tony, Adrienne's husband of 44 years, passed away. Adrienne was also predeceased by her parents, daughter, Liliane and son, Gerald, brothers, Roland, Bertrand and Bob. Left to mourn and cherish her memory are her eight children and their families, Bob (Joan), Carole Van Den Bussche (Ernie), Hubert (Lorraine), Remi (Gale), Rheal, Edouard, Charles (Diane) and Simone Lussier (Raymond). She is also survived by her brothers Hector (Natalie) and Herve (Lorraine), sisters, Fernande Espenell and Lauraine Lea, and sisters-in-law Lea Bahuaud and Cecile Grainger (Percy), as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her long-time friends Madeline De Spiegelaere, Marielle Rigaux, Aline Van Cauwenberghe, Margaret Lussier, Terry and Alec Vielfaure, and John Moroz. Mom was always a very kind and generous person who helped many people during her lifetime. Her greatest joys were her family, especially her grandchildren, and her many friends. She loved to cook, bake and make preserves for the many family gatherings at her house. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting and making handicrafts for herself and her friends. She especially loved her flower and vegetable gardens. We will always remember coming to her home, which was always filled with the welcoming aroma of fresh baked bread and doughnuts, and then leaving with a bag full of garden vegetables, a container of soup, or a pair of hand-made mittens or slippers. Mom's love of nature and deep appreciation of God's gifts taught us all to value the same. She was a member of the Swan Lake St. Martin de Tours Roman Catholic Church. Her strong faith was evident as we saw her embrace the joys and sorrows of life. Her greatest legacy to us was the importance of family. Mom, we saw the glimmer leave your eyes and we saw hope fade away as days passed. We will always remember your love and your generosity. The pain and confusion are now gone and you are safe in the arms of God. The family would like to thank the 2nd floor staff and volunteers of Vista Park Lodge for their kindness and support and the care that they showed our Mom and us during her time there. At Mom's request, cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1531 Pembina Hwy., with interment to take place next spring at St. Lupicin Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Adrienne's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
