Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJESSIE HELEN FLETCHER Jessie Fletcher entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 15, 2006. Aunt Jessie was born on December 5, 1918, the youngest of four children. Aunt Jessie attended Highview School until grade nine and then boarded in Killarney during the week to receive her high school at Killarney Collegiate. Aunt Jessie was a loving, caring, compassionate person which led to her passion for nursing. It took a year or two after high school for her to enter into nurses training, but she persevered and graduated as a Registered Nurse in the Class of 1943 from the Winnipeg General Hospital. While In Training she developed many friendships that have lasted to the present day. All of her nursing career was spent in Winnipeg. Her area of expertise was obstetrics and she ran the office for a group of Obstetricians. All babies and small children were a special joy and could bring forth a smile on the darkest days. She never lost her roots and returned to the farm many weekends to help Jean and Stewart. Her love for animals, especially cats, brought her great joy. Aunt Jessie retired in the early part of 1981 and moved home to be with her sister Jean. They lived, laughed and worked together and when ill health forced them to leave their apartment they were able to move to Bayside Care Home together in August 2002. Aunt Jessie is survived by her sister Jean; nieces, Betty and husband Byron Steen, Carberry and Jessie Grainger, Sorrento, BC; nephew Norman Campbell and wife Bernice, Brookdale, MB and many great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves a host of friends to recall happy times she spent with them. Aunt Jessie was predeceased by her sister Mary and brother-in-law Doug Campbell; brother Stewart and niece Jessie Grainger's husband Charles. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Colen Grambo of the Killarney United Church on Monday, December 18 with interment in the Killarney Cemetery. If friends wish to make a donation in memory of Aunt Jessie please consider the Killarney United Church or Killarney Foundation Inc. Killarney Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
