Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY MAY VANDENBERG May 8, 1935 - December 15, 2006 Peacefully, at Beacon Hill Lodge Care Home, Shirley Vandenberg passed into the presence of Jesus. She will be remembered with love by her sister Karen Krysanski (Hank); sister-in-law Joyce Kubishyn; aunts, Jean Mactier (Kelly) and Elsie Loewen; nieces, Lori Honke (Les), Cindy Franklin (Ken), and Valerie Krysanski; nephew Jim Krysanski (Kim); great-nephews and niece, Kyle, Michael, Justin and Sarah. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Lorne. Shirley was born and raised in Winnipeg. She was employed with the Provincial Government, retiring in 1991. Throughout her life she dedicated her time and love through many activities, especially her church community which brought her joy and many friends. She also held a tender spot in her heart for animals, especially The Felines and tended to strays that came her way. She enjoyed music, writing poetry and reading, especially her Bible. Shirley was very fond of her nieces and nephews and loved to buy them gifts of which she would uniquely wrap. Her love for her family and unwavering faith will be forever cherished. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2nd Timothy 4:7 A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Special thanks to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for their kindness and care given to Shirley.
