ARTHUR (ART) JACOB UHRICH Peacefully on December 17, 2006 at Riverview Health Centre, Arthur Art Jacob Uhrich passed away after a courageous fight with cancer. Left to cherish his memory are daughter Patricia and husband Allen; son Duncan and wife Linda; sister Agnes and brother Bill and wife Elfrieda. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, the pride and joy of his life, Chris and wife Danina, Caryn and husband Steve, Michael and Ashleigh. He was predeceased by his parents John and Emilie and brothers, Henry, Herbert and Elmer. Art was born and raised in Kipling, Saskatchewan. He served his country overseas during the Second World War with the Regina Rifles. He was a Lifetime and active member of the Legion. From visiting veterans in the hospital to selling poppies and Saturday afternoon Meat Draws, the Legion was a very important part of his life. Many of Art's favourite times were spent fishing with his best friend Bob in the Whiteshell. He was proud of his numerous Master Angler awards. His outgoing and jovial personality made him a friend to all. Art was still flirting with the nurses until the end. A celebration of Art's life will be held at the St. James Legion, #4, 1755 Portage Ave. on Friday, December 22 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Field of Honour, in Brookside Cemetery following the service and lunch. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers at Grace Hospital and Riverview Health Center. Donations in Art's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the St. James Legion. Art's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 4665
