SHIRLEY DARLENE WEDGE (nee RIDDELL) December 16, 1946 - December 16, 2006 It's with deep regret and sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Shirley Darlene Wedge (Riddell) on Saturday, December 16, 2006. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Pansy Riddell, and her first husband Roderick Wedge. She leaves behind her husband David Lazark, sons Jeffery (Heather) and Jamison (Lisa), grand-daughter Alexandra, brothers Glen Riddell (Lillias), Dale Riddell (Jennifer), sister-in law Barbara Hewitt (Jack) and many other family members and close friends. She was born in Melita, Manitoba and was the oldest of three children. She spent her early childhood years on the family farm in Pierson. She then moved to Grosse Isle where she graduated from Warren Collegiate. Shirley worked for Manitoba Hydro, Videon Cable, Macleod's, Bank of Montreal and was most recently employed as a loans officer at South Interlake Credit Union in Selkirk. Shirley was a devoted spouse, mother, grandma, sister and friend who spent most of her time focused on supporting her family and friends. Her interests included traveling, working in her flower gardens, caring for her pets and enjoying the outdoors. She was a hard working, dedicated, strong willed and caring woman willing to help anyone who needed her. She never missed an opportunity to express her thoughts and opinions. People appreciated her candor and honesty. These qualities made her a truly remarkable person who will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street with reception to follow. Contributions in remembrance may be made to the Winnipeg Human Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB R2L 9Z9. Oh Jesus, Through the most pure Hands of Mary I beg to offer thee all the prayers, words and sufferings of this day and for all intentions of Thy Sacred Heart. Divine Mercy. Jesus I trust in you.
