JIM FOSTER Peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2006 Jim went to join his wife Helen who he shared 55 years of marriage with. One of his Christmas wishes was to see her again. Jim is survived by his only daughter Gail Gaffney of Winnipeg. Jim was born in Basingstoke, England October 17, 1927 and came to Canada with his parents when he was still a boy. He resided in St. Vital most of his life. One of his talents was being very artistic, his drawings and paintings will be treasured. During his life he worked as a painter for Eaton's department store, there he met his wife Helen, as her father worked there as a paper hanger. They shared many happy years together until she passed away in February of this year. After working up in Churchill, Manitoba for a short period he came back to Winnipeg where he got a job at City Hydro and worked there for many years until he retired due to his health. Because of his love for travel he leaves many friends as well as the ones from home to mourn his loss. England, Scotland, Ireland, Paris, Germany, Spain, wherever he went he made friends. There was never a more true or reliable, kind person, and what a sense of humor he had! You knew you had a best friend through thick and thin with Jim. His canine companion was a joy in his life. He use to refer to Rivets as Greyfrair's Bobby . Always by his side they enjoyed many a walk together. Rivets was little dog loyal to him. Two lives that will never be complete, Until once again they meet. Together at last up above, Reuniting their true, true love. Cremation has taken place. Graveside service will be held on Friday December 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Cemetery, Hwy. # 1 E. at Navin Rd. A big thank you to the staff and security at the St. Vital Centre, for their immediate attention when my Dad needed it most. A very special acknowledgement and gratitude to the nurse who happened to be walking by and tended to my Dad, you were his guardian angel at the time. God bless You wherever you are. In lieu of flowers donations in Jim's memory may be made to the Winnipeg, Humane Society, 5 Kent St. Winnipeg, MB. R2L 1X3. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
