Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDERRICK DAVID MCINTOSH KEMP JACKSON Suddenly, after a short illness Derrick Jackson passed away on December 18, 2006. Survived by his wife Ann and sons, David, Stewart and Ian; granddaughter Beth. His kids Paul, Elizabeth, Janel, James and John. Scotty was born June 25, 1933 in Milnathort, Kinross-shire, Scotland and came to Winnipeg in 1946. He joined RCSCC John Travers Cornwell, V.C. attaining the rank of Corps Chief. He was employed by Winnipeg Hydro prior to joining the Royal Canadian Navy in 1952. Serving in RCN Ships and Shore Establishments until his retirement in 1982 as Chief Petty Officer, First Class. Scotty was a Life Member of the Navy League of Canada, serving with the Manitoba Division and the National Council, he had also been involved with the Duke of Edinburgh's Award through the Manitoba Council. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in the spring for family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, Manitoba Chapter. Our condolences to Ann and the family. Scotty and I go back a long way and have always shared our love for the sea and the Sea Cadet movement. He was a tireless worker and will always be remembered.
