Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL (FRANK) PUKALO It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our father and grandfather, Mike at his home on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 79 years of age. Mike leaves to mourn two children: son Michael Thomas (Ellen) and daughter Darlene Crookshanks (Bruce); daughter-in-law Bridgette and son-in-law John Dickson; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mike is survived by his brother Nick of British Columbia; four sisters, Mary Joyce of Winnipeg, Agnes, Nettie and Anne all of California, and sister-in-law Jean Minifie of Calgary. Mike was predeceased by his beloved wife Blanche in 1995; his daughter Sherry Dickson in 2002 and his son Dennis in 2003. Mike was born on July 4, 1927 in Prawda, MB and grew up in the Birds Hill area where his father farmed. As a young man he headed out west to Calgary and in 1946 married Blanche Minifie and together they had four children. In the mid 1950s he returned to the Birds Hill area and farmed and worked construction until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked for the R.M. of St. Clements. He will be lovingly remembered by all for his fierce independence and his quick wit. Family will be forever grateful for the care given by Dr. Ryckman, Dr. Antonenko, the staff at Selkirk General Hospital and Karen, Pat, Sandra, Annie, and Elodie of Selkirk Home Care. Prayers will be held at Klassen Funeral Home on Friday, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, December 23 at 10:00 a.m., also at Klassen Funeral Home, with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pop's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, #200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
