Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN LITVAK On October 19, 2006, Norman Litvak passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 87 years. Norman is survived by his beloved wife Mae, his daughter Elaine, son David and sister Ethel, as well as many nieces and nephews. Norman was predeceased by his sisters, Cecile, Leah and Nellie and his brothers, Max and Lou. Norman was born in Winnipeg on July 14, 1919, the son of David and Gitel Litvak. His life was a testament to his kindness, generosity and unconditional love. Norman grew up on Magnus Avenue and attended St. John's High School in the North End. After graduation, he proudly served his country during the Second World War. He served overseas and saw duty in France and Holland in a tank regiment. He married the love of his life, Mae Demels on March 20, 1949. For the next 57 years, they were inseparable and he loved her with all of his heart until the day he died. Norman was a loving husband, father and uncle and had a zest for life. He loved to write and recite poetry, sing, play the horses, listen to music, smoke cigars and go to the casino and had a wonderful sense of humour. He also loved spending time with his wonderful gang of North End friends. Funeral services were held at the Etz Chayim Synagogue on October 23 with interment at Rosh Pina Memorial Park. He will be greatly missed. May his memory be a blessing to us all.
