Born: Feb 09, 1920
Date of Passing: Dec 20, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN DAISY KULLMAN (nee GEALL) 1920 2006 Peacefully, at the Park Manor Personal Care Home, with much love and sadness, we announce the passing of our Mother and Nana in her 87th year, on December 20, 2006. Evy was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1996; her parents Lillian (Holden) and Harry Geall; sister Muriel, and brothers, Jack and Pat Geall. She is survived by her children, Marlene Penner (Rick) and Rick Kullman (Jan); grandchildren, Colleen Podaima (Clark), Michelle Lowen (Harry), Jennifer Alldred (Grant) and Christopher Kullman, and great-grandchildren, Dale, Evan, Natalie, Kyle, Medea and Corwin. She is also survived by sisters, Kath and Madaline, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was born on February 9, 1920 in Winnipeg and raised in Elmwood where she married Roy, the love of her life, on February 24, 1940. They started their married life together in the Elmwood-East Kildonan area, and in 1964, purchased the Tourist Hotel in Seven Sisters, MB, where they lived and worked until 1977. Thereafter they resided at their lakefront home at Dorothy Lake in the Whiteshell, and later in Transcona. Mom spent the last year and a half in the care of Park Manor, to whom we are grateful for the excellent care and compassion that she received. We would also like to thank Aunt Kath, Aunt Madaline and niece Barbara Huzarski for their kind visits and attention, which meant a lot to Mom. Thanks to Pastor Bob and Vi Jacob and Pastor Annemarie MacIntosh for their pastoral care, love and friendship. Mom was an exceptional loving, caring Wife and Mother, always cheerful and full of the joy of life, and devoted to her family. Mom's eyes never failed to sparkle when she saw you and she was never failing in her constant love and support of family. Our Mother's life was her family. THE WATCHER She always leaned to watch for us, Anxious if we were late, In winter by the window, In summer by the gate; And though we mocked her tenderly, Who has such foolish care, The long way home seemed safer, Because she waited there; Her thoughts were all so full of us, She never could forget, And so I think that where she is, She must be watching yet; Waiting til we come home to her, Anxious if we are late, Watching from Heaven's window, Leaning from Heaven's gate. (Margaret Widdemer) A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Abundant Life Lutheran Church, 3486 Raleigh Street, East St. Paul. A private interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations in Evy's memory may be made to the Abundant Life Lutheran Church Building Fund, 3486 Raleigh Street, East St. Paul, MB.
