Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA VERONICA ANDERSON (nee CAMPBELL) Lena Anderson passed away peacefully, with family at her bedside, on Monday, December 18, 2006 at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, ON. Lena was predeceased by her beloved husband, O.T.; mother Estella; father Augustus and sister Daisy. She is survived by brothers, Harold and Victor of Jamaica. Lena is the loving mother of Margaret, Franklyn, Wayne, Michele; sons-in-law Edmund and Terence and daughter-in-law Karen. Devoted grandmother of Mackenzie, Veronica and Harrison. Dear aunt of Monica, Veronica, Daisy, Lucien, Newton, Hugh, Rudyard, Donovan, Windsor and grand-aunt of Malcolm, Jason and Christina. She will also be deeply missed by numerous friends, relatives and family members inclusive of, Livingston, Collin, Samuel, Ellis, Frank, Louise, Inez, Ernesta and their families. Lena was an extraordinary wife, mother, friend, scholar, educator, community activist and leader. She was a pillar of strength and invaluable wisdom. Lena led her life honestly, with great courage, integrity and compassion and was thankful for every single day. She lived each of them to the fullest and was gracious and dignified throughout. We are all profoundly thankful for her life and for every moment that we shared with her. She will live in our hearts and minds forever. Deep appreciation to doctors, Karlinsky, Amato and staff at Mount Sinai Hospital; doctors, Wells, Mason, Fakharian, Seccareccia and nursing staff of Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto for their incomparable compassion and advanced technical care. Cremation and committal have taken place in Toronto at St. James' Cemetery and Crematorium, Chapel of St-James-The-Less. Special thanks to The Rev. Cannon Barry of Grace Church on-the-Hill, Toronto, for a moving committal service. A memorial service, celebrating Lena's life, will be held Thursday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 256 Smith St., Winnipeg, with reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Private interment will take place at St. John's Cathedral Cemetery in the New Year, when Lena will finally be laid to rest beside her dear husband, O.T. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lena's name to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 610 University Ave., Toronto, ON M5G 2M9.
