DR. H. WAYNE WILFORD February 4, 1942 - December 19, 2006 Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wayne went home to his mansion in glory. Wayne was born and raised in Palmerston, Ontario where he met and married Mary (Reid), his high school sweetheart. He was an excellent student at school and had great aspirations to be a high achiever. He received his B.A. at University of Western Ontario (1964) and Doctor of Dentistry at the University of Toronto (1968). Wayne always had big dreams and visions and worked hard to fulfill them. After graduating from Dental School, Wayne served the Canadian Forces as dentist, two years in Gypsumville, MB and three years in Winnipeg, MB. In 1974 he started his own private practice, Gemini Dental Centre in North Winnipeg where his staff and patients became more like family than friends. He also was an associate dentist at Red River Dental Centre in Selkirk, 1999 to 2004. In 2004, Wayne masterminded a State of the Art dental practice, Cornerstone Dental Centre in Winkler, MB. It was his vision to offer a dental practice with dental specialist service for Winkler and surrounding area with an added outreach to be a light to the community. Wayne had such a heart for people everywhere. He was ready to reach out, extend a helping hand and pray for others needs. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, staff and patients. One of Wayne's favourite hobbies was to compose gospel songs or write songs for special occasions. One of his first songs was Oh We're All God's Children . Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary; daughters, Athena Lacroix, Stephenie (Jayson) Bourcier, Dawn Marie (Thomas) Weber, Sarah (Guy) Fontaine, son Brent (Sheryl) Wilford and grandchildren, Michael, Christina and Mitchell, Reid and Hannah, Gabriel and Raven, Petra, André and Triston, Vanessa and Bridget. He was the youngest of five children and predeceased by his father and mother, Harold and Lydia Wilford, brother William and sisters, Frances, Thelma and Mary. The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Van Niekerk and staff at Boundary Trails Hospital, Winkler, MB and Doctors and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB for their special care given to Wayne. We also thank the many members of family and friends who have been keeping Wayne and his family in your prayers throughout this time. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint The funeral will be held at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. on December 27, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Leon Fontaine and Pastor Doug Braun officiating. • Through out my life I have often thought fondly of Wayne. Good times in the tent in the back yard. Harry around to make sure we stayed out of trouble. - Posted by: Elgin McKillop (Boyhood friend) on: Mar 14, 2015
