JAMES DAWSON RAMSAY April 4, 1916 - December 22, 2006 Peacefully in his sleep, on Friday, December 22, 2006 James passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre. Jim was predeceased by his first wife Madeline, and his second wife Elsie; daughter Florence Parent; parents, James and Anne; brothers, Alec, William, Robert, Cecil, Elmer; sisters, Annie, Bella, Susan, and Joyce. James will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Darlene (Albert) Bourbonniere; son Doug (Shirley); grandchildren, David (Christina), Claire (Daniel), Gerald (Christina), Jim (Loreen), Jason (Shauna), and Jody (Charlynne). He will also be missed by his 11 great-grandchildren and his two sisters, Esther and May. Jim was born in Carnoustie, Scotland and immigrated to Canada at the age of six. He worked on farms in the Darlingford area until his overseas service during the Second World War. Jim worked at Eaton's for over 35 years spending most of his time delivering in the Selkirk area. He was once chosen as driver of the year, something that he was very proud of. He really enjoyed his sewing and giving his handiwork to his granddaughters. Jim was a caring and generous man, he was always there for us and we will miss him greatly. Our family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge, Tower Seven, for their kindness and compassion shown to Dad. Also thanks to Harry (the cook) for his friendship. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Jim's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Jim's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment and reception will follow.
