Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIMELDA LEA WEDENSKY (nee CARRIERE) December 12, 1934 - December 20, 2006 After a short battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Imelda Wedensky on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the age of 72 years. Imelda was born December 12, 1934 in San Clara, MB. She moved to Eriksdale in 1960 where she and her husband raised their family. She was the founder of St. Erik's Roman Catholic Church which she started in 1960. She was very active in the church all of her life. She liked doing crafts and working in her yard. Imelda thoroughly enjoyed having the family reunions. Imelda will be lovingly remembered by her son Robert (Dolores) Wedensky, of Lorette, MB, and her daughter Juliette Wedensky of Eriksdale, MB; also her grandsons, Adam (Sheryl) Wedensky, Joel, Shawn, and Brett. She will also be sadly missed by a special young lady, Sandy; her brothers, Rene, Edmond (Annie), Laurent (Tony), Aurele and Clement (Eileen); as well as many nieces and nephews. Imelda was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1983; her father and mother George and Flora Carriere; her brothers, Leo, Amedee, and Armand Carriere as well as nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at St. Erik's Roman Catholic Church in Eriksdale, MB. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the church, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Eriksdale Recreation Centre with Father Armand LeGal officiating. Interment to follow in the Eriksdale Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Adam Wedensky, Linda Langevin, Alain Carriere, Louis Carriere, Andy Carriere, and Flora Carriere. Honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Carriere. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital for all their care and also to the home care workers. Also, special thanks to our family doctor, Dr. Kati from Winnipeg, for making a special trip out to Eriksdale with his wife to see Mom. Special thank you to the sisters of St. Joseph for all their love and support. Thanks to all our friends for the kindness, and a very special thank you to our cousin Stella for all that she has done for Mom; also thank you to Father Armand LeGal.
