ANNE HERDY It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne, on December 22, 2006 after a courageous struggle with a lengthy illness. Anne was born at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, and at age 12, she came to West St. Paul (Middlechurch). She lived there for the rest of her life. Anne was predeceased by her parents, George and Maria; her brothers, John and William; and her brother-in-law Frank Porznak. Left to mourn Anne's passing are her sisters, Olga and Elsie; her brother Harry (Barbara); her sister-in-law Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was especially fond of her nieces, Linda and Patricia, both of whom were kind and willing supporters throughout her illness. Anne received continual prayers from the Sisters of St. Benedict, and countless blessings from Sister Gerarda and others. Sister Alice Arnal M.O. of St. Theresa's Parish paid many visits, and prayers were offered by the St. Theresa CWL Society during Anne's many months of illness. Anne loved her church; it was a very important part of her life. She also loved music and singing. Anne was a humble, shy, kind, gentle and loving soul. She was always willing to share whatever material blessings she had with others. The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and health care aides on the 5th floor U2 at Seven Oaks Hospital, especially nurse Trinity for her compassion and understanding. Family and friends are invited to prayers on Tuesday, December 26 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 3597 Main St. in Middlechurch. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 27 at 10:30 a.m., also at St. Theresa's Church, with Msgr. Louis McCloskey officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael and Julie Ternovetsky and Katie and Scott Davidson. Honourary pallbearers will be Noah and Haley Trudeau. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Anne's name to Rossbrook House or a charity of choice. No flowers, please. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Cropo Funeral Chapel.
