Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET SOUTHGATE October 28, 1920 - December 22, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Margaret Southgate at Kildonan Personal Care Home. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Cecil, of 62 years; her daughters, Joan (Duncan) Anderson and Doreen Southgate; her grandchildren, Tricia (Collin), Jerry (Joanne), and Storm; her great-grandchildren, Eric, Faith, Aaron, Angelique and Dylan. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her sister Susan; her brothers, Abe (Helen) and Jake (Anna); sister-in-law Dorothy and special friend Jens, as well as many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, George and Helen Thiessen; sister Helen Hiebert; brother George Thiessen; sister-in-law Ann Thiessen and brother-in-law George Hiebert. Margaret and her husband Cecil enjoyed travelling extensively, and went on many cruises. They enjoyed ballroom dancing on Saturday nights. Margaret also enjoyed being a part of the Fort Rouge bowling league and loved beautiful flower gardens, roses being her favourite. Margaret will always be remembered for her great love of children. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very important to her and she loved them dearly. Thank-you to the wonderful third floor staff of Kildonan Personal Care Centre. Especially, Linda, Allan, Dawn, Valerie and Trinia for all their compassion and love shown to Margaret over the past two and one half years, and the support shown to her family during this most difficult time. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, December 28 at 12:30 p.m at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
