IRENE CLEMONS Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Irene Clemons passed away at the age of 86 years at home with her daughter, grand-daughter and great-granddaughter by her side on Sunday, December 24, 2006. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard; parents Grace and George Black and brother Simon. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her daughter Helen and son Howard (Agnes). She is also survived by grandchildren, Darryl (Iris), Kimberley, Paul, Terry, Barbara, Cathy (Jim) and Keith (Tanya); great-grand-children, Melody, Taylor, Justin, Mia, Courtney, Jessica, Draven, Wyatt and Bree, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends, many who looked on her as a second mom. Her family was very lucky as she was a dedicated wife and mother, whose greatest joy was having her family over for a game of cards and a bowl of homemade soup. She was always there for us. A special thank you to Dr. Demsas and the staff at Palliative Care for their loving kindness and support in our hour of need. Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with viewing being held one hour prior to. Pastor Stan Richards will be officiating. Cremation will follow and interment of ashes will be held in spring at the Old Stone Church, East Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen , P.O. Box 123, Selkirk, MB R1A 2B1. Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB in care of arrangements.
