GEORGE FERRIS It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, George Ferris, on December 24, 2006, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB. George was born November 29, 1934. He leaves to mourn, his best friend and the love of his life for the past 33 years, his wife, Madeline; his children, Carol and Kevin Frost, Steven Ferris; his beloved grandchildren, Brendan and Caitlyn; his stepchildren, Valerie (Gordie), Gwen (Donnie), Lynn, Kenny and Dennis (Faye); his step-grandchildren, and his step-great-grandchildren. His brothers, Ferris (Leslie), Albert, John (Debbie); sisters, Mary (John) Dudek and Lilia Krawec. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bea (Ron), Mary (Pierre), Leona (Peter), Sharon (Henry), Clarence Hood and Pat Ferris, plus many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Alex and Melanie Ferris; sisters, Ann Carter and Margaret Ferris; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Patrick and Ruth Hood. George was born in Hodgson, MB and lived on the farm all of his life, until he moved to Fisher Branch. He also worked at a bush camp in Pine Falls, for 10 years, but farming was his passion. Special thanks to Dr. Vanameyde and nurses of GH 4th floor and Dr. Dowhanik and nurses of GD5 who cared for George at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, and to the doctors and nurses of Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, MB. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 28, at the MMF Hall in Hodgson, MB at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Wesley Barrett. Interment to follow in Hodgson Cemetery.
