VIRGINIA (GINNY) GRACE

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIRGINIA (GINNY) GRACE After a courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, December 21, 2006 Ginny passed away at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 54 years. Ginny was born on March 21, 1952 in Winnipeg to Ernest and Ida Trites. She attended John M. King and Golden Gate Schools, and graduated from Silver Heights High School in 1970. Ginny was a vibrant and energetic woman with a zest for life and a great love for art. She was employed at the English Language Services and International Services Departments in the University of Manitoba and enjoyed assisting international students. Ginny was also completing her final year of a Fine Arts degree. Prior to her working at the University she will be remembered for her artistic work at The Creative Paper Gallery with her unique purchases as assistant buyer, imaginative displays, and special gift-wrappings. Ginny is survived by her loving husband and devoted friend Paul of 38 years; loving son Matthew and their greyhound Lucy; siblings, Adrienne Reid (Peter) of Calgary and Douglas Trites (Cheryl); mother-in-law Gertrude Grace; brother-in-law Bruce Cochrane (Steve) of Toronto; sister-in-laws Susan Boulette of Calgary, Kathy Kiziak (Larry), Peggy Sanders (Ken), and Barbara Prue (Jeff); niece Jennifer and nephews James, Kevin, Ivan, Ken, Mike, Nathan, and Christian. She was predeceased by her parents Ida and Ernest Trites; father-in-law, Raymond Grace; brother-in-law, Ronald Cochrane (Rosemarie). Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m., at St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 St. John Brebeuf Place at Lanark Street . Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Pat Harris, staff at; Cancer Care - Grace Hospital, Cancer Care Manitoba, Medical Center Cologne, Germany, St. Boniface General Hospital and to the Palliative Care in Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or Zoological Society of Manitoba, 54 Zoo Drive , Winnipeg , MB R3P 2N8.
