Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVONNE OLIPHANT (nee SKAGFELD) 1932 - 2006 Yvonne passed away suddenly on December 22, 2006 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She and her daughter, Karen, shared a long battle with cancer and are now together in heaven. She was beloved wife to Ken for over 52 years, devoted mother and amma to son Craig, wife Carla and children Heather, Adrianna and Jessica, daughter Karen Knapp, husband Anderson and children Brendan, Christopher and Rebecca and son Robert, wife Michelle and children Kyle, Corey and Chelsea Doucette. Yvonne was a dear sister to Irene Baldwin, Joyce Beaubien and Calvin Skagfeld. She was predeceased by her sister Carolyn Holder. She was very special in the lives of many nieces, nephews and friends. Yvonne taught kindergarten in the River East School Division for over 30 years where she touched the lives of hundreds of children and their parents. Yvonne's strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ helped her through many difficult times. A service to celebrate her life will be held this Saturday, December 30, 2:00 p.m. at Springs Church at 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. Please go to www.inhonourofamma.wetpaint.com

Mrs Oliphant was my Kindergarten Teacher at John De Graff Elementary School in 1980 or so. She was a wonderful teacher, and made us feel safe and respected. She had a calmness about her that was easy to like. I enjoyed that class as she always made learning fun for us.
