CHAN POW LEE WING (nee LEUNG) May 10, 1929 - December 22, 2006 After a long, courageous battle, Mrs. Chan Pow Lee Wing is at rest at the age of 77. She was a woman of great strength, an accomplished seamstress, and an excellent cook who worked tirelessly with raising a large family, while operating the family business with her late husband, Hamilton Lee Wing. She was born in Guang Dong, China, immigrated to Trinidad, and then to Canada in 1976. She is lovingly remembered by her 13 children and their spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sons, Wilson (Puerto Rico); Boston (Calgary), Phillip (Ontario); Jordan and Matthew (Winnipeg). Daughters, Simson (Edmonton); Simfay, Simfon, Karen and Judy (Winnipeg); Simlie, Simyook and Simcheng (Calgary). The family is thankful for the compassionate care provided by her caregivers, Susan, Melanie and Irene. The family also wishes to thank the staff of the Victoria General Hospital, and in specific, the nursing staff and Reverends, Ron and Lynn. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29 at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg. Interment to follow at the Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
