Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH KLASSEN Elizabeth (Elsie) Klassen (nee Falk) passed away suddenly, with her husband at her side, on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Donwood Manor in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Elsie was born on November 8, 1919. She spent most of her childhood years in the Altona area. She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and six sisters. She is survived by her husband George; two daughters, Lynda and Elvira (Howard); three sons Albert (Norma), George (Eileen) and Edwin (Shelley); twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary, Helen and Agatha and a large extended family. Elsie was an active person throughout her life. She loved to cook, garden and farm. With her husband, she lived on a farm at Manitou for 61 years. The last 3 ½ years were spent in a condo in Winkler where she made many new friends and adapted quickly to life there. Due to failing health, Elsie spent the last month at Donwood Manor. Elsie had a strong faith in God and church was important to her. She was active in the Manitou Mennonite Brethren Church as Sunday-school teacher, deaconess and friend. She enjoyed the new church family she found at Winkler Mennonite Brethren Church and missed attending when she was no longer able. Elsie was a determined person and even when her eyesight diminished, she kept cooking with the help of her husband. She had a sharp memory and family was very important to her. Funeral service will be held at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., with viewing prior to the service. Graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Manitou Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations can be made to Mennonite Brethren Missions/Services, 1310 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3M 3Z6.
