GLORIA IRENE LETHBRIDGE (nee RYZOWSKI) With dignity, Gloria passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Riverview Health Centre at the young age of 58 years. Her son Travis was holding her hand. Gloria was predeceased by her parents Pat and Paul Ryzowski, and brother Dick Ryzowski. Her dogs, Blu and Jesse and her cat Mai-Lang are also waiting to greet her. Remembering Gloria with love is her son Travis, sister Pat McTaggart and husband George, brother Bill Ryzowski and wife Barb, sister Susan Rogers and husband Gerry and sister-in-law Bernice Ryzowski. Her nieces and nephews all have special memories of time spent with Aunty Glor. Gloria's many good friends will miss talking and visiting with her. Her cats, Emma and Sugar, and her birds Lemon and Lime are missing her soothing voice and gentle strokes. Gloria was so very proud of Travis and his accomplishments. She loved him unconditionally and often talked about what a thoughtful, kind and loving son he was to her. She left Travis many gifts of knowledge, insight, compassion and understanding that he will use all his life. Throughout her life Gloria worked at various positions with the RCMP, Boeing and at Grant Park High School. By far, her job at Grant Park was her favourite. She had many good friends at Grant Park, both staff members and students. Gloria loved to garden and took it upon herself to create a beautiful flower garden at the school's front entrance for everyone to enjoy. She was honoured to be recognized for her efforts with a plaque designating the space as Gloria's Garden . The garden will continue to grow and be maintained in her memory. To all of you at Grant Park, you have no idea how happy you made Gloria's last birthday. Thank you all so very much. Gloria was a special and unique woman with a quick wit and an artist's eye for beauty. She was a gifted stained glass artist and created many beautiful one of a kind pieces for family and friends. These pieces will be cherished by those fortunate enough to have one. Gloria also loved to garage sale. She viewed garage sales as treasure hunts as she could always see the potential in a broken down old dresser or a rusty old trunk. With some elbow grease and paint these things were transformed into lovely pieces of furniture to enhance her eclectic décor. Gloria will be remembered as an honest, compassionate, determined woman with a zest for living life to the fullest. Sadly, she is gone too soon. Our thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre 3E and Gloria's visiting Palliative Care nurse Jennifer for treating her with respect and dignity. A special thanks to Dr Leslie Henderson for all the years of care and friendship. In accordance with Gloria's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her life will be held tomorrow, Saturday, December 30 at 12:30 p.m. in the 17 Wing Chapel (CFB North) Silver Avenue and Whytewold Road. Although Gloria loved flowers, she loved animals more so donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3, would be greatly appreciated.

Aunty Gloria was such a wonderful person. A visit to her house would always be an adventure. What cool new stuff has she acquired? What unique animal has she adopted since our last visit? We were blessed to bring our 2 young children out for one last visit. As usual she made it a time they would remember forever. That day she gave my daughter Zoey a stuffed cat named Kitty, who she’s slept with every day since. - Posted by: Paul Phillips (Nephew) on: May 10, 2022

Gloria, it's hard to believe that 10 years have gone by. I miss you every day. I'm sure Mom and Dad are happy to have three of their kids with them once again. I hope you're all getting along! Travis is doing well. I see so much of you in your little grand-daughter Meghan. She definitely has your sense of style and your desire to be independent. Love always, Sam - Posted by: Susan Rogers (Sister ) on: Jan 26, 2017
