EDWARD MATTHEW KAARTINEN Suddenly at his residence on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 76 years of age. Eddie was born in 1930 at the Eriksdale hospital to John and Maija Kaartinen, the second youngest son of seven boys. He received his education at Scotch Bay school. In his younger days he loved to hunt and trap. He was a shorehand on Little Georges Island. Eddie got a job with Canada Steamship Lines (Great Lakes) and was a fireman there for 22 years. He retired to Vancouver, BC until his passing. Eddie is predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Walter, David, Albert and Peter. He leaves to mourn his brothers, Reino and George and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
