MINNIE SHEWCHUK Peacefully, at the age of 87 years, on December 24, 2006, Minnie passed away with her family at her side. Minnie was predeceased by her husband Nicholas and is lovingly remembered by daughters, Maria Zorniak (Don), Eileen Shewchuk; grandsons, Jeremy Zorniak and Derek Zorniak; special niece Sharon Jost (Jim) and brother Stan Trybell (Minnie). Minnie's generous nature touched many. Her sense of adventure and zest for life were well-known to numerous relatives, neighbours and friends. The family would like to thank the many individuals who made Minnie's life comfortable while in her home at Seven Oaks Hospital and at Holy Family Nursing Home. Of particular note are companions Maria Santos and Svitlana Ivaniv who have become a part of our family. We also extend a special thank you to all the staff of the Sacred Heart Ward at Holy Family for their loving and compassionate care of our Mother. A memorial service in celebration of Minnie's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. with Fr. R. Dybka, C.Ss.R. officiating. A private family interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Minnie's memory may be made to Holy Family Nursing Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave. or a charity of one's choice.
